Player Bio and Testimonial
My name is Alijah Gonzales and I will be graduating from Volcano Vista High School in Albuquerque, NM in May 2024. My entire life everything I've done is for the Lord and live by Phillipians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Two days before I was born, my parents were told I would have something neurologically wrong with me and I would have no coordination or be able to do anything normal, especially sports. God has allowed me to defy the doctor's assessments by excelling in multiple sports and in the classroom. I am a dedicated team player and hard worker that gives my all on and off the field and diamond. I have played baseball and football since the age of four and have been blessed to play Little League, Young American Football, club baseball and on my high school varsity teams. Since my freshman year of of high school I have had the opportunity to start on the varsity baseball team as an outfielder, shortstop, second base, third base and catcher. I am blessed to be able to be an utility player and help my team any way I am able. My freshman and sophomore year I was named to the All-District 2nd Team and this past season was name to the All District 1st Team and All State 1st Team. All three years I was named to the All District Academic Team.
I have played club baseball since the age of eight where I primarily play as catcher, short stop and third base and have won multiple awards around the nation for my performance on the diamond. I work hard in the classroom and currently carry a 4.005 weighted and 3.95 unweighted GPA. During my free time I enjoy being involved in my church's youth group, lifting weights and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking for a school that I can use my skills to contribute to the team, a place that I can study and obtain my degree and a team that will become family and give back to the community.
