Abigail Ellis

My softball career began at age 9, when I started playing third base and left field for the Colorado Rush in Loveland, Colorado, In my second year, I played 12u as a 10 year old. I stayed with this organization for two years prior to switching to a new team to enjoy the opportunity to learn from new coaches. The year I spent with the Colorado Cougars was a challenging one, in that it was the year everything shut down due to the pandemic. We lost our coach due to the economy, yet were able to finish the season with the help of parent who stepped in to fill the gap. That summer I tried out for four different teams and was offered a spot on each one. I selected the team whose coach made the greatest impact during the tryouts. I spent two years playing 14u with the Colorado Royals Fastpitch Softball Club, and I was their starting shortstop. In the summer of 2022, I joined the Colorado Softball Academy, and decided to play a third year of 14u so that I could continue to take my career to a new level. In college, I will pursue a degree in zoology/animal behavior, with dreams of owning a no-kill animal rescue center.
